Wat is nou eingenlijk een API? Wij leggen het je uit aan de hand van simpele voorbeelden. Ook gaan we erop in waarom het belangrijk is te weten wat een API is. Het is tijd deze onzichtbare laag van het internet eens naar boven te halen!
De web API workshop begint met het algemene verhaal en lokt uit tot discussie. Daarna is het tijd om aan de slag te gaan. Iedereen kan een API bevragen! Je leert om een simpel request te maken en het antwoord te interpreteren. Ook voor ontwikkelaars die al vaker wat met APIs doen is er nog wat te leren. De meer advanced opdrachten leren je om te gaan met APIs die niet altijd goed gedocumenteerd zijn. Wist je dat je GIS servers ook kan bevragen voor niet geo vragen?

De meeste online kaarten worden deze dagen aangestuurd door JavaScript. In deze workshop zullen we 2 mapping libraries behandelen: Leaflet.js en de ArcGIS JavaScript API. De workshop begint van het begin. Als je nog nooit een lijn code hebt geschreven? Maak je geen zorgen! We leggen hier alles uit. Aan het einde van deze workshop heb je je eigen werkende web pagina met een interactieve kaart. De kaart bevat de officiële Nederlandse achtergrondkaart van PDOK én een WMS laag van GIS afdeling. Dit allemaal in de Nederlandse RijksDriekhoekstelsel projectie.
